/usr/bin/pdfinfo -meta -box <filename>Seems to generate most of the info you'd want about a pdf, but one exception I noticed was nothing on the number and types of embedded images. It also seemed to need some blank lines thrown out to keep all the information together.

1) General info
Doing a 'man -k pdf' generated a list of pdf related data for my Debian system. One that stood out was pdfinfo.
